It was with a great joy that on Wednesday, 5th of April 2023, the Bishop and priests, Religious and the faithfuls of Keta-Akatsi Diocese met to celebrate the Mass of Chrism.
In this holy Mass, it is traditional for the oils of Catechumen and the Sick to be blessed and that of Chrism, from which the Mass of the day derived its name to be consecrated.
The Mass was presided over by Most Rev. GABRIEL Edoe Kumordji, SVD, the Bishop of Keta-Akatsi Diocese and also in attendance was Most Rev. ANTHONY K. Adanuty, the Emeritus Bishop of the Diocese.
The Mass of Chrism was celebrated at Viefe, St Benedictus Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Amuzu as the Parish Priest and Francis Egbefome as the Associate. We have Religious Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church working in the Diocese in colourful attendance as well as Missionary Congregations of Servants of Charity and Comboni.
In the Homily, the Bishop was emphatic in asking all his flock to pray for three things in the Diocese – Unity, Forgiveness and love. These are the virtues of the priesthood and Christian life. He asked us to pray by saying Jesus l Trust in You.
All priests present took a solemn renewal of their vows whiles the Bishop asked the entire faithfuls to pray for him and all Priests.
